Want to Get Connected?
Sign up and show up, and you'll find fellowship and fun. There are lots of general ways to serve in the church. Below you find many different opportunities. You might either become part of a team or help out on specific occasions: contact the group leader, if you would like to get involved!
Our key word is “welcome” because you never get another chance to make a warm, inviting first impression. The greeters on our Hospitality Team facilitate worship at our Sunday services and provide “party favors” and information to our first-time visitors. We coordinate snacks and coffee for our services to make everyone feel invited and included. We periodically host New Member classes for newcomers that want to know more about our church and what we believe. Our focus is on inviting, committing, and communicating warmth to make everyone feel welcome at Celebration to hear about Jesus. Contact Kaye Mathews if you're interested in connecting in this way.
Party Planning Team
On the Party Team, our mission is to make sure that Celebration remains a FUN place to get serious about God by planning events and celebrations that allow church members to get to know each other, have fun, and celebrate together. We always welcome people onto our team who enjoy planning/organizing events and brainstorming about new and creative ways to celebrate together. We also love volunteers who can give time on a limited basis and work behind the scenes to set up and/or clean up for events such as BBQ's, potlucks, holidays and other parties. Feel free to contact Mike Logan or Jill Jones if you would like more info about volunteering for the Party Team!
Our “Tender Loving Care” Ministry facilitates congregational care for Celebration, including a meal ministry, hospital visitation, and our prayer team. If you are a prayer warrior or if you like to cook meals, visit folks at home or in the hospital, send sympathy cards, or have the gift of compassion and mercy, then our TLC ministry is for you! Contact Teresa Hood or Joe Sprague for more information.
Our outreach and missions team! Acts 1:8 makes it clear that Jesus calls His followers to a mission: to serve around the world, starting in our very own community and reaching to the furthest point on the globe. Are you passionate about serving the Virgina Village neighbors? Or serving in homeless ministry, or overseas on short or long term missions? The Acts 1:8 team is the perfect place for you. See Our Local Partners and Our Global Partners for projects we support. Contact Ryan Harrison, Amy Nothwehr, or Caleb Nothwehr if you'd like to get connected with this group.
Tool Belt Team
Around Celebration, we like to say that we do, "major ministry in modest facilites". The Tool Belt Team exits to help care for our facilities and grounds and to connect people who like to work with their hands. If you have a skill in any of the trades, gardening, or just like to help out with things like window washing, dusting, vaccuming, taking out the trash, we could use your help to keep our space a beautiful place for God. Contact Wes Scheu if you'd like more information.
