The Lost Art of Confession: How Repentance Leads to Rest for Your Soul

April 2, 2017 Speaker: Steve Garcia Series: The Gospel of John

Topic: Confession Passage: John 18:1–18:27

Question: In a new survey of newlyweds, almost 20% said their first fight was about this. What is it?
Answer: Laundry!

Let that soak in. How many of you have found laundry to be kind of agitating? Well, Cheer up. The Tide is about to turn.

Okay, here’s the serious part: We all have dirty laundry, secrets and stories we aren't proud of. Perhaps an addictive behavior, a criminal record, or lapse of judgment haunt you to this moment. When we behave badly, we can carry a load of guilt and shame that is heavy indeed.

This morning we will learn the stories of numerous people who behaved badly toward Jesus. But one of them would own up to it and find peace with God. We can too. Steve’s sermon is called "The Lost Art of Confession: How Repentance Leads to Rest for Your Soul.”
