Love: The Call to Recalibrate Your Heart
Topic: Advent Passage: Matthew 22:34–22:40
Video clip of A Christmas Story shown in sermon:
Question: 7% of Americans are still paying for this. Paying for what?
Answer: Last year’s Christmas presents!
7% doesn't sound like much till you hear the answer, right? Well, we've been pretty clear about this: No Christmas on Credit. Hopefully, you are making good choices in that regard. But here's the thing: Christmas isn't about buying and spending. It's not about gifts. And it's not even about family time, sweet as that can be. Christmas is about something much, much better. And that "something" is a Someone.
This morning, Steve will bring a message about what God really expects from us. His sermon is called “Love: The Call to Recalibrate Your Heart.” This is Week Two of our Advent Series called “Loving My Actual Christmas.”
At the end of the service, we will bring our Christmas Offering — and bring ourselves as well. This Sunday is rated “R” for a radical call to discipleship.
