Answer: Telegrams!

This isn’t just a gimmick. When it comes to urgent hand-delivered messages, the telegram is still the gold standard. The director of communications at the International Telegram Company says “People use them for canceling contracts and sending legal notifications because a copy of the message is retained in our files for 7 years and can be legally verified.” Everything from legal notices to social correspondence for births, funerals and weddings are being routinely sent by telegrams.

Another thing that seems outdated but is still essential in our day is discipleship. Discipleship is critical to following Jesus. It happens best in person, life on life, not digitally or virtually. That’s the subject of today’s message from Pastor Jill called “Devoted To A New Way of Life.”
