According to this data, 78% of people don’t mind or even hope they will get candles for Christmas. Do you like candles as gifts? Whether it’s something simple you might hope for — like a gift, or something really profound — like a reconciled relationship, a new job, or healing from a diagnosis, we all have hopes, things we long for.
The good news is we serve the God of hope. As we light the hope candle today, at the beginning of Advent, we direct our hopes to the one who hears and responds to our prayers. Today pastor Jill begins a new sermon series on Prayers of Advent, in a message called “Hope in the Meantime.”
