Answer: A vacation!
Did you start planning for summer vacations this week? Do you already have your plans solidified for summer vacations? Do you still need to start thinking about it?
The funny thing about vacations is it’s easy to have a picture in our minds about how they should go. When they don’t live up to our expectations, we can feel really disappointed, bummed out, and even get angry.
That’s what happened with Jesus’ followers on the day He entered Jerusalem the week preceding His death. They had high, high hopes and expectations for Him, but none of it went the way they were hoping or expecting. It’s also the subject of today’s sermon, called “What Kind of God….Rides a Mule? — Following Jesus Through Holy Week.”
